About the Author
Peter Lalic is the youngest chess player to become an ECF accredited coach, as well as a regular contributor to Chess Monthly magazine. He has also represented England on board three of the U-18 Glorney Cup, where four wins and two draws earned him the best player award. Professionally he teaches in schools and private, following in the footsteps of his parents, Grandmaster Bogdan Lalic and Women's Grandmaster Susan Lalic.

It is easy to read and learn about this dynamic opening

I regularly play the Accelerated Dragon and have several books on this opening. This one is up-to-date and has lines not included in any of the other books. In addition, Lalic is a very clear writer. It is easy to read and learn about this dynamic opening. He also has a chapter on the Maroczy Bind, which is a good chapter. It is a little out of place, but very helpful.
Throughout the book he is very good about explaining the ideas behind the individual lines.

Entertaining but Biased

Although the book is nice to read (well organized; nice tidbits), it is NOT up to date (not sure how the other reviewer makes that claim). For one thing most of the games are old. A particular problem with the book is in the line in Ch. 2 with 9.0-0 a4! (authors exclam); he even writes later: "Objectively, Black is slightly worse...". The game he quotes is from 1999. For a book published in 2013 he could have found more recent games, but oops, those games are not showing Black doing well!
The book is directed at the club level player, and for that player it may be an okay book. Additionally, most players are not well prepared against the accelerated dragon (never being very fashionable), so you might get by with the lines presented.
The plus side of this opening is that there aren't a million variations White can choose from (like against the better Najdorf), so for someone starting out this book might suit you.
