Every adult, graduate should own this

I read this years ago, and it is a favorite gift I like to give high school graduates and people who are struggling with hardships in their life. It amazes me how many people have not read it. I enjoy purchasing it because it reminds me of the message in the story and I reread it. It only takes 10 or 15 minutes to read it. I am a sap and I cry like a baby each time. The 3rd book I purchased, I gave to a friend whose wife had passed away. He was struggling terribly and was in a very dark place. He had 3 beautiful children who were missing him. I wrote a message in the inside saying, "Pass this to the next person if you ever feel they need to find the Precious Present." I was at my son's football practice last week and was talking to another mom. We exchanged frustrations with home life and I told her how a good friend of mine passed away over the winter and how it took a toll on me. She asked me if I had read, "The Precious Present". I smiled and said, yes a few times. She brought the book to the next practice and I opened it up, and would you believe it...it was my book that I had given to my friend years ago that had been passed around. It had so many messages from people in it. I sobbed like a baby!! Just wanted to share this. We get so busy we forget the simple things in life. I highly recommend!

Buying Hundreds of Copies of This Book!

A friend of mine shared a copy of this book with me a number of years ago, and since then I've done the same for a lot of friends, family members, colleagues, and complete strangers. From the Norwegian woman I sat next to on a plane, to my friend who's now taken it upon himself to share it with as many people as possible, I've seen this story make a true difference in people's lives.

No sentence is wasted in this story. Don't let the number of words in this book fool you; it is loaded with life lessons, and the single, most important one of them all - how precious the present really is.

Coming back to living in the present, instead of drifting into the future or past is something that I'm constantly striving for. This story helps me get there. It helps me get to a place of gratitude and love for life. Being conscious of everything going on around me allows me to be in control, and brings out the best in me and others.

I'm on my way to buying a hundred used copies of this book, and I don't plan on stopping when I get there. Spend the $4 including shipping to own a copy of this book, and buy an extra while you're at it for a friend!

Adults can glean such great life lessons from this beautiful book. I suggest adults reading it to children of all ages, and talking about life and what they see everyday. This is a forever book and as far as I am concerned be in everyone's libraries. Johnson has put into words what I could never say so easily. Comforting Reading

I love this book too much. I am yet to read the other one. The poems are simple, yet very relatable to Africans especially. The collection overall had humor in it that got me smiling. This book is different from any other poetry collection that I have read.

About the Author
Joann Keyton (B.A., Western Michigan University; M.A., Ph.D., The Ohio State University) is Professor of Communication at North Carolina State University. She specializes in group communication and organizational communication. Her current research examines the collaborative processes and relational aspects of interdisciplinary teams, participants’ use of language in team meetings, the multiplicity of cultures in organizations, and how messages are manipulated in sexual harassment. Her research is fi eld focused and she was honored with the 2011 Gerald PhillipsAward for Distinguished Applied Communication Scholarship by the National Communication Association. Her research has been published in Business Communication Quarterly, Communication Studies, Communication Theory, Communication Yearbook, Journal of Applied Communication Research, Journal of Business Communication, Management Communication Quarterly, Small Group Research, Southern Communication Journal, and numerous edited collections including the Handbook of Group Communication Theory and Research and the Handbook of Organizational Communication. In addition to publications in scholarly journals and edited collections, she has published three textbooks for courses in group communication, research methods, and organizational culture in addition to co-editing an organizational communication case book. Keyton was editor of the Journal of Applied Communication Research, Volumes 31–33, and founding editor of Communication Currents, Volumes 1–5. Currently, she is�ditor of Small Group Research. Charitha is specialized in SOA and middleware testing. He lead the WSO2 QA team since 2007. He is also a committer of the Apache Software Foundation contributing to Apache web services project. Charitha is interested in researching new technologies in software-testing space as well as new trends in agile and exploratory testing processes.

Prior to joining WSO2, Charitha has worked at Virtusa inc. for 3 years where he was involved in multiple on-site and off-shore project assignments. In his rare offline moments, he enjoys playing guitar and watching movies.

Awful experience. I have never bought a book on a topic where the setup to start the book involves way too complicated setups. I tried the rest section and had to setup a request API key. Page 81, #6, the Places APIs listed are for mobile devices only. You can't locate the "Places API". These developer pages change over time. I bought the book and can't do the REST API section.

Until someone writes a good book for using Soap UI, my suggestion is use Google and YouTube.

I rated this a 3 because I respect the authors intentions and smarts.

The book is a very efficient guide to using soapUI. It introduces all the soapUI functions and provides a thorough explanation.

There's also a user guide on soapUI website, but this book is much better organized and easier to understand.

The book is a very good choice both for beginners and those who want to explore soapUI in more detail.

This is a useful book. It does not cover too much, in spite of its physical size. It is too verbose too. But given that there are no other books, web manual is poor, and the topic is very important, I give it 4 stars. Thanks that it is written- definitely better than nothing.

Utility stations of one sort or another seem to dominate shortwave these days with the pulling-back of VOA, Voice of Russia (formerly Radio Moscow) and others. Other than Amateur Radio operators, it seems nearly all we can hear most of the time is religious shortwave broadcasting and strange-sounding digital modes. With this handbook and the pictures of spectrum displays you can readily see what those strange sounding "things that go beep in the night" are. Even Amateur Radio enthusiasts are using more digital modes these days ! This book has joined my shelf of valued reference materials in my Amateur Radio station ! Highly recommended!
